Impressions from my trip to Greece in 2006
This time we spent all of our time in the northern province of Epiros. Though
there are whitewater rivers elsewhere in Greece, this is the prime area for
paddling.
The Alps? The Himalayas? No, Greece in late April.
Driving on-road in Epiros can be more interesting than driving off-road
elsewhere.
The rivers tend to be on the easy side, but are true wilderness trips with no
chance of aborting if you lose vital equipment. We did not find that paddle
(bottom right picture), but fortunately someone carried a folded spare.
Making camp, after obtaining permission. And the last Greek sunset viewed from
the ferry terminal.
